Estamos em meio a uma crise ecológica sem precedentes: aquecimento global, eventos extremos, extinções e risco de novas pandemias ameaçam modos de vida no planeta. A comunidade acadêmica responde ao desafio construindo alternativas no contexto do Antropoceno.

O projeto “A Terra e nós: educação, pesquisa e cidadania no Antropoceno”, contemplado pelo CNPq e executado pelo Departamento de Filosofia da PUC-Rio em parceria com a APPH, reúne 17 pesquisadoras/es de nove instituições brasileiras. A rede internacional e interdisciplinar forma uma comunidade de pesquisa e experimenta práticas educacionais para enfrentar as mudanças climáticas.

O projeto integra o Anthropocene Curriculum, referência internacional em educação sobre o Antropoceno, realizado em parceria com o HKW e o Instituto Max Planck de História da Ciência (MPIWG).

We are in the midst of an unprecedented ecological crisis: global warming, extreme events, extinctions, and the risk of new pandemics threaten ways of life on the planet. The academic community responds to this challenge by developing alternatives within the context of the Anthropocene.

The project “Earth and Us: education, research, and citizenship in the Anthropocene,” supported by CNPq and carried out by PUC-Rio Department of Philosophy and APPH, brings together 17 researchers from nine Brazilian institutions. This international and interdisciplinary network forms a research community and experiments with educational practices to address climate change.Its activities are organized into three axes—Education, Research, and Citizenship—and include seminars, national and international events, workshops, and exhibitions. The project also produces a book with its findings and offers undergraduate research scholarships.

The project is part of the Anthropocene Curriculum, an international reference in Anthropocene education, developed in partnership with HKW and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Sciences (MPIWG).
