Anelise De Carli é pesquisadora das áreas da estética e filosofia social, trabalhando principalmente no campos interdisciplinares da cultura visual contemporânea, da história e teoria da fotografia e da colonialidade/decolonialidade.

Doutorou-se em Comunicação e Informação na UFRGS (2020), onde também estudou Antropologia. Anteriormente, foi professora substituta na Escola de Belas Artes da UFRJ (2022-2023), professora colaboradora no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos Culturais da USP (2024-2025), e professora convidada na Universidad de la Empresa de Montevideo (2025). Fez estágio de pesquisa doutoral no Institut de Recherches Philosophiques, Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 (2018-2019) e foi pesquisadora visitante no Institute for Women’s and Gender Studies da University of Georgia (2026). Desenvolve desde 2024 pesquisa de pós-doutorado em Filosofia na PUCRS, onde também atua como professora colaboradora.

Desde 2023, é professora e pesquisadora da APPH— Associação de Pesquisa e Prática em Humanidades, instituição independente e sem fins lucrativos voltada à educação da qual é cofundadora. Coordena o GPPimg — Grupo de Pesquisa Pensamento por Imagem (APPH) e co-lidera o Atlas do Antropoceno (PUCRS), integrando também os grupos de pesquisa Terranias — Centro de Pensamento Ecológico (PUC-Rio) e Sociedade Digital (UFRGS).

Paralelamente à sua atuação acadêmica, é ensaísta, crítica e artista-curadora, com textos publicados em periódicos acadêmicos, revistas culturais, livros e catálogos, e trabalhos visuais apresentados em exposições individuais e coletivas no Brasil e na França. Como curadora. produtora e artista, realizou exposições, eventos e parcerias com instituições como Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Rio Grande do Sul, Goethe-Institut Porto Alegre, Goethe-Institut Rio de Janeiro, École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, Santander Cultural, Museu do Amanhã, entre outros.

Anelise De Carli is a scholar on the fields of aesthetics and social philosophy, focusing on the interdisciplinary areas of contemporary visual culture, the history and theory of photography, and coloniality/decoloniality.

She earned her Ph.D. in Communication and Information from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2020), where he also studied Anthropology. Previously, she was a Lecturer at the School of Fine Arts, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2022-23), the Cultural Studies Program, University of São Paulo (2024-2025), and the Universidad de la Empresa de Montevideo (2025). She developed a doctoral internship at the Institut de Recherches Philosophiques, Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 (2018-2019), and was a Visiting Research Scholar at the Institute for Women’s and Gender Studies da University of Georgia (2026). Since 2024, she has been a Postdoctoral Researcher in Philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, where she also serves as graduate faculty.

Since 2013, she has been a researcher and educator at the APPH — Association for Research and Practice in the Humanities, an independent educational nonprofit institution she cofounded. She coordinates the Image Thinking Research Group (APPH) and co-leads the Anthropocene Atlas (PUCRS) research group, and is algo a member of the research labs Terranias — Center for Ecological Thought (PUC-Rio) and Digital Society (UFRGS).

Alongside her academic work, she is active as an essayist, cultural critic, with texts published in academic journals, cultural magazines, edited volumes, and exhibition catalogues, and visual work presented in solo and group exhibitions in Brazil and France. As a curator, producer, and artist, she has organized exhibitions, events and partnerships with institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rio Grande do Sul, Goethe-Institut Porto Alegre, Goethe-Institut Rio de Janeiro, École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, Santander Cultural, Museum of Tomorrow, among many others.
